The Gift of the Spirit program

The Gift of the Spirit is a classic program that invites candidates to become actively involved in preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation as they grow through reflection and prayer.

The book is divided into five units: Baptism and Eucharist; The Gift of the Spirit; Conformity to Christ; Bearing Witness to Christ; and Reflection on the Sacrament.

Each section of the unit invites written reflection by the young person, with printed examples of reflections by other teens.

It concludes with a walk-through of the liturgy.

The Gift of the Spirit uses reflection, prayer, Scripture, doctrinal review and activities to invite candidate to become actively involved in their preparation for the rite.

Candidates are led to a better understanding of personal friendship with Jesus and membership in the Catholic community through each of the sections.

The Leader’s Guide contains a solid theological foundation, reflections for adult leaders and creative activities. Black line master handouts for candidates and sponsors are included.

The Gifts of Life and Love Family Book and The Gifts of Life and Love Leader’s Guide helps children and families prepare for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist and is perfect for diocese that are using the Restored Order of sacrament reception and for children in RCIA.

Eight blessings and rituals (four traditional and four contemporary) utilize the central symbols of the rite of Confirmation. Two retreat plans are included and can be easily adapted to meet the needs of younger or older candidates.
