Readings for the Celebration of Confirmation

When Confirmation is celebrated within Mass, the Liturgy of the Word is celebrated s always. The readings may be taken from the Mass of the day of from the texts for confirmation as noted in the Rite of Confirmation.

Readings from the Old Testament
1. Isaiah 11:1-4a
On him the Spirit of the Lord rests.
2. Isaiah 42:1-3

I have endowed my servant with my Spirit.
3. Isaiah 61:1-3a, 6a, 8b-9

The Lord God has anointed me and has sent me to bring Good News to the poor, to give them the oil of gladness.
